Big Something - Tumbleweed

Big Something
Tumbleweed
Genre: Rock
Release Date: February 24, 2017
Label: Independent

Clocking in at just under one hour, with only a total of eight tracks, Big Something's fourth studio album, Tumbleweed, is one monster of a record. The band itself is comprised of six members, all showcasing a variety of musical talent with their respective instruments. Big Something is a rock band, but they fall between a fine line that blends rock and roll, indie, reggae, and a number of other genres throughout their collective work. Tumbleweed is indeed one of their finest pieces of work, bringing out the talent they truly have not only as individual musicians, but as a full band.

No song on the record is less than five minutes, and there is indeed a lot of material to absorb. There are a number of sci-fi references scattered throughout (just take a look at the album artwork if you don't believe me), and Give it several listens if you decide to give it a shot, as many 'jam' moments take place throughout the duration of the album, bridging the gap between the key elements and choruses of each track.

I've listened to the record several times, and I still don't believe that I've truly picked up on everything that it has to offer. But that's the fun thing about bands that tread the line of "progressive" rock, for lack of a better term. You're not going to pick up on all of it right away, but that's what makes you want to come back for future listening. Have fun with this one.
