August Burns Red Release Cover of System of a Down's "Chop Suey!"

August Burns Red have just released a surprise cover of System of a Down’s “Chop Suey!” While August Burns Red are known for brutal breakdowns and screaming vocals, this song showcases something quiet different: clean vocals. Guitarist JB Brubaker stated the following about putting their own spin on this classic metal track:

"After years of playing 'Chop Suey!' over the PA system right before we took the stage at our shows, we decided to take a crack at the song ourselves. This is truly one of the most legendary rock/metal songs of all time and it was so much fun to cover. I'm especially proud of our singer Jake and our bassist Dustin. We haven't done much clean singing in our music and this song showcases our vocalists in a whole new way."

August Burns Red recently just wrapped up their “Christmas Burns Red” virtual holiday show, and released their ninth studio album, Guardians, earlier this year via Fearless Records. You can check out the cover in its entirety below.
