Releasing an EP of any kind is almost always faced with some form of adversity, whether it be great or small. In the case of Landmarks, the EP was met with adversity when the band's studio was broken into and a lot of the gear was stolen. Clearly, this didn't stop them. In Spite of It All shows a bit of departure from a pop-punk heavy sound, and goes into territory that shows maturation and growth in the form of cleaner sounding tracks. There is a bit more clarity despite the more difficult times the band were met with, and the clarity helps shape their music in a way that makes it an enjoyable listen.
