Frank Turner - Mittens EP

Frank Turner
Mittens EP
Release Date: March 4, 2016 (available now)
Label: Interscope Records

There truly isn't a songwriter out there that can match the skill or style of Frank Turner. Punk songwriters are rather common, but it's rare nowadays that any artist, whether it be a band or solo artist, can take punk ideas and sensibilities and attract a mainstream audience. His songwriting is unabashedly powerful and honest, and it's great to hear even just a taste of that on the five-track Mittens EP. This time around, we're actually introduced to a bit of a softer side of Turner, with songs falling on the calmer side of the spectrum. The lyrics are still just as powerful as his last outing, Positive Songs For Negative People, and it's a nice offering that should hold us over until the next album hits the shelves. I always hope that time is sooner than later, but great art should never be rushed. (Take as much time as you need, Mr. Turner.)

This has been another Shameless Promotion.
