Cage The Elephant Announce 'Neon Pill' 2024 North American Tour

GRAMMY winning rock act Cage The Elephant have announced that they will be releasing their sixth studio album, Neon Pill, on May 17th via RCA Records. In addition to the album, the band will be embarking on an extensive 45-date North American summer tour. The band will be supported by Young The Giant and Bakar (except where noted).

Neon Pill was produced by John Hill, and recorded at several locations including Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Electric Lady in New York, Sound Emporium in Nashville, Echo Mountain in North Carolina, and Hill’s own studio in Los Angeles. The band have unveiled the first single from the album, “Out Loud”, which you can check out below. Click here to pre-order Neon Pill.

In a press release announcing the album, vocalist Matthew Shultz stated the following:

“Maybe it’s so straightforward and honest, because I didn’t know if it would see the light of day. “‘Out Loud’ is very connected to my father. My dad’s the reason we discovered music in the first place. When he died, ‘Out Loud’ just poured out of me. My efforts towards the song were deeply rooted in paying honor to him, and I knew it meant a lot to Brad too. That, also in connection with the difficulties that I was dealing with at that time. It was almost a subconscious apology of sorts before I was fully capable of grasping the gravity of it all. Subconsciously working through it while channeling all of the adversity my family faced growing up coming full circle into my adult life in this one song.”

Cage The Elephant’s tour will kick off on June 20th in West Valley City, UT and will wrap up on September 18th in Denver, CO.
