Yellowcard Release New Song "Childhood Eyes", Announce Signing To Equal Vision Records
After disbanding in 2016, Yellowcard has announced that they will be releasing a brand new EP, titled Childhood Eyes, which is slated to be released on July 7th, 2023 via Equal Vision Records. Ahead of its release, the band has premiered the EP’s eponymous single.
In a press release announcing the team, vocalist/guitarist Ryan Key speaks about the band getting back into the studio in Texas after reuniting earlier last year at Chicago’s Riot Fest:
“When we got to Austin, we sat down and poured some whiskeys and we started talking about what we wanted to do and what we wanted out of it. We knew we were writing an EP which meant we only got five songs, so we had to really make them special. And I think there was an immediate sense of bringing it back to Paper Walls—the idea that we need to make something that we’re proud of, but also something that gets Yellowcard fans excited about what we’re doing. So at that point, we picked up the guitars and started demoing and, honestly, I think these five songs could have just been on that record in 2007. And I love that.”
The EP is slated to feature guest spots from Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil (“Three Minutes More”) and Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional (“The Places We’ll Go")".
Childhood Eyes is slated to be released next month, and you can click here to pre-order. You can view the music video for the EP’s first new single below.
Yellowcard will be hitting the road this summer, with a show set for August 2nd at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium with support from Mayday Parade, Anberlin, Emo Night Brooklyn, and This Wild Life. You can get tickets here.
