Death Cab For Cutie Announce New Album, New Tour Dates
Death Cab For Cutie have unveiled details for their upcoming new album titled Asphalt Meadows, which is set to be released on September 16th. Additionally, the band have given fans a taste of the new album with the release of the first single, “Roman Candles”, and have announced U.S. tour dates. Support on select dates will come from Low and Yo La Tengo, and the tour is slated to hit Oakland’s Fox Theater for two nights on October 23rd and 24th.
In a statement released through the band’s Facebook page, the band stated the following:
“Asphalt Meadows, our tenth album, was begun separately from each other during a time of great uncertainty. It was completed together during joyous and inspiring sessions with a new friend and producer, John Congleton.
Ironically, the isolated circumstances in which it began led to us creating our most collaborative album to date. We can’t wait for you to hear it. Much more music is coming soon, but for starters, please enjoy a small taste of what’s to come by listening to “Roman Candles”.
We’re also thrilled to announce that we’ll be hitting the road this fall with our good friends Low and Yo La Tengo. Playing some of our favorite venues with a couple of our favorite bands sounds like a nice way to celebrate our new record. See all dates below.
Asphalt Meadows will be released on 9/16. "Roman Candles" is out now - make sure to watch the lyric video created by Juliet Bryant and pre-order the album + new merch here: death-cab-for-cutie.lnk.to/AsphaltMeadows
