Depeche Mode Announce New Album 'Memento Mori', New World Tour

Earlier today at a special event in Berlin, Depeche Mode announced that they will be heading out on a world tour in 2023. The group has also announced that they will be releasing a brand new studio album (their fifteenth) titled Memento Mori. The album is set to be released in Spring 2023.

In a press release announcing the album, Martin Gore stated the following:

“We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

Dave Gahan added:

“Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”

This will be the band’s first tour and album release without keyboardist Andy “Fletch” Fletcher, who sadly passed away earlier this year. The tour is slated to kick off on March 23rd in Sacramento, CA, with a Bay Area date in San Jose, CA the following day. The world tour routing will wrap up on August 11th in Oslo, NO.
