Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and Greg Kurstin (record producer) have decided that they will be releasing eight cover songs, one for each day of Hanukkah. Each cover will be exclusively by an artist of Jewish descent, and for the third night, they’ve decided to cover “Mississippi Queen”, a classic rock track by Mountain. The video description reads as follows:

“Talk about making a mountain out of a mohel ... named Leslie Weinstein at his bris, the singer of our next band built a wailing wall of guitar as Leslie West. Check out our take on a track from Leslie’s monolithic band, MOUNTAIN.”

Foo Fighters are currently gearing up to release their tenth studio album, Medicine At Midnight, on February 5th, with Kurstin acting as producer. You can click here to pre-order the new album, and you can click here to hear the band’s first single, “Shame, Shame”, which premiered on Saturday Night Live in November.
