My Chemical Romance Announce First U.S. Tour in 9 Years
Alternative rock band My Chemical Romance have officially announced their first North American headlining tour in ten years. The band has not toured North America since 2011, with their last official North American tour being the Honda Civic Tour with Blink-182, followed by a show at Bamboozle in New Jersey in May 2012.
Up until today, the band had only unveiled a handful of international tour dates, including an incredible three-night run at MK Stadium in Milton Keynes, England this June. The tour kicks off on September 9th in Detroit and wraps up (as far as we know so far) on October 11th in Las Vegas, NV.
A video premiered at 8:45 AM PST on the band’s official YouTube page, titled “A summoning…” The video shows a young man (played by Marcos Garcia) appearing to summon the band in a Wiccan-like ritual. What follows next is something that only My Chemical Romance pulls off (we’ll dissect everything a bit later in full) but it’s an incredible journey and callback to all of their music from years prior, starting with their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, to Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys.
