Alternative rock trio Demon In Me have unveiled a brand single today, entitled "Choke". This is the band's first new piece of material since releasing a standalone single, "Melody" and their 2016 debut album, Here's Your Way Out.

Vocalist Kylle Reece recently stated the following about the meaning behind the emotionally powerful song:

"Conceptually, “Choke” is a song written about domestic violence. Over the years I have learned that so many of my own friends, peers, girlfriends, family members, teammates etc. have experienced or been exposed to some level of domestic abuse. It quickly became apparent that this is a deeply scarring issue that is tragically overlooked. With their permission, I did my best to speak with a few of these victims and tried to empathize as much as I could to understand how their bodies and minds have been affected by their abusers.

I was very careful to not include any descriptions of age or gender in the song because I believe that it is important to be aware of the fact that domestic violence is very much present across all ages and all genders. If you have a loving family and/or loving partner, be very grateful because not everyone can say the same. I will never fully understand the gravity of being a victim of domestic violence, as I have never personally experienced it, but this process has been eye opening to say the very least."
