Kalin & Myles 'Crazy For Christmas' 2015 - Show Review

In the past year alone, hip-hop duo Kalin & Myles have not only inked a record deal with Republic Records and released their full-length debut album, but they've also played three Bay Area shows, with one common element tying the all together: every show has been sold out. The first show was a MASSIVE homecoming event at the San Jose State Event Center in April. The second was a surprise performance at this year's 99.7 Triple Ho Show (with a bill that boasted such artists as One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer). This brings us to the third sold out event: their annual 'Crazy For Christmas' show.

The screams emanating from the vocal chords of the fans behind me could rival any One Direction concert the moment Kalin & Myles take the stage. It's almost near impossible to hear the actual music or lyrics as the fans screams overpower them. Smiles stay wide across Kalin White and Myles Parrish's faces as they power through an hour and a half set with an enviable amount of energy.

Because this was a Christmas homecoming event, the visuals were even more on-par than usual. Drew Parrish (DJ) performed atop a giant riser with LED screens adorned below displaying various visuals to match the songs throughout the evening. (It provided for a rather unique effect during the acoustic portion of the show, where the background displayed a crackling Christmas fireplace.)

If there is anything to be understood about the incredible year and the type of set that Kalin & Myles brought to San Francisco this past Sunday evening, it's that 2015 was only the build-up. Come 2016, expect the takeover. They will be on your radio. They will start filling your arenas across the country, and doing so with as much energy, class, and excitement as they do in the Bay Area.
