A Sense of Purpose - Zoetic

A Sense of Purpose
Zoetic
Release Date: May 6, 2016
Label: None

It took awhile for me to finally get this posted, but I'm very glad I did. Akron, OH's A Sense of Purpose released their second EP, Zoetic, back at the beginning of May. Considering this is from a newer, unsigned band, I was pleasantly surprised upon giving the EP a full listening. Zoetic is a seven-track, metalcore-fueled adrenaline rush. Aside from a single interlude track, calm moments really are nowhere to be found here. Each track averages about four minutes, and while there isn't so much flashy production as there can be on most recent metalcore offerings, there are some rather technical moments that showcase the band's stellar musicianship. The mixing is rather spectacular as well, showcasing what is so enjoyable about this genre in its most bare form.

This has been another Shameless Promotion.
