Silverstein - This Is How The Wind Shifts
What’s the one thing about Silverstein that makes them truly awesome? Well, it’s really hard to limit it to just one specific characteristic. Their musicianship and songwriting is magnificent in an age where hardcore albums are known for being overly repetitive and slathered with breakdowns. Shane Told’s vocals (both screaming and clean) manage to get better with every album they put out, just when you think they can’t get any better than they already are. Their lyrics are incredibly well constructed, as they illustrate stories and provide deep-rooted messages that pull listeners in with each word that slips it’s way out of Told’s lips and into the microphone.
“This is How The Wind Shifts” is EASILY Silverstein’s strongest effort to date, succeeding the expectations that the band sets for their fans every step of the way. Standout tracks “Massachusetts”, “In A Place Of Solace” and “In Silent Seas We Drown” should give you just a sampling of the Ontario, Canada quintet’s latest creation and illustrate how the band managed to perfectly blend together the right amount of heavy and light. Well done, guys.
